Our Mission
Our Expertise

ATA is ran by Nichola, an experienced Maths Difficulties and Dyscalculia assessor and tutor with a current APC and DBS.

She trained as a secondary maths teacher over 20 years ago, and worked in schools up until 2010. At this point she moved into teaching maths in Further Education specialising in teaching basic skills maths and GCSE to those on the C/D (3/4) border. This sparked a deeper interest in why some learners found it so difficult to learn maths and pass their GCSE.

She now works as an independant Maths Difficulties & Dyscalculia assessor and private tutor, assessing all ages from 8.5 years up to and including adults.

She is also an expierenced teacher trainer, providing training across the UK to new and experienced teachers.

"Nic provided maths tuition for my daughter, she was so supportive, encouraging and patient when my daughter was convinced she was not going to do well. The support was perfect and my daughter was delighted with her result. I would highly recommend Nic as she has a natural ability to put students at ease and help them to believe in themselves." Sarah G

"My son and his friend used ATA for additional maths tuition prior to their GCSE’s. Nicki their tutor was outstanding and greatly improved ours sons confidence and ability with the subject. It was money well spent and our son achieved a higher than predicted grade at the end of his exam. I would highly recommend this service." Nicky W

"Wow last nights webinar was spot on, I learnt new things, was reminded of things I could/should include in my practice as maths learning champion across KS2 but was confident I understood how I can be the best practitioner for the student I support whatever their ability."

"Maths has never been my strong suit and before I started my tutoring classes with Nicki, I didn’t enjoy it either. Nicki made the classes fun whilst still being educational. I would definitely recommend maths tuition with Nicki to anyone wishing to get some extra help in the subject. She was a lifesaver for me when revising for my exams. Thank you Nicki for all your help!" Ruby H

"As someone who really struggled with maths Nic got me through my GCSE's I couldn't recommend anyone more " Grace G

"Thanks so much for the CPD this morning, I found it very useful and interesting. Some great takeaway strategies, thank you!" Deb R
